Professor Xie Suyuan from College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and his group’s research ‘The synthesis of new type of fullerene’ on the second class National Prize of Natural Science of 2015.
The fullerene is the allotropes of carbon, which have an important application prospect in organic photovoltaic, anti-cancer drug, catalysis and other fields. In the past, scientist can study the molecule only in the gas phase case the synthetic fullerene was unstable. Professor Xie and his group found a universal method to synthesis a series of new fullerene, his research make the deep research in fullerene and application research of fullerene possible.
